Music
RockAbility
A performance-based music program that welcomes musicians with disabilities into real bands, not a beginner class run by music teachers. Players rehearse, collaborate, and take the stage.
What it is
Real bands, real stages
RockAbility welcomes musicians with disabilities into existing, performance-based musical projects of varying genres, including rock, blues, funk, folk, and country. It is not a music-instruction organization run by music teachers. Instead, it places musicians into performance situations that stretch and elevate their abilities.
Members practice their parts ahead of time and come together for weekly rehearsals built around collaboration and creative problem-solving.

Acoustic
FolkAbility
A unique acoustic offshoot of RockAbility. FolkAbility is a talented group of about nine musicians, several of whom have disabilities, who play with a warmer, unplugged sound and an intimate performance style all their own.
- An acoustic ensemble with its own distinct voice
- The same inclusive, empowering spirit as RockAbility
- Intimate performances that put the players front and center
Where to hear them: FolkAbility rehearses and plays out through the year. Upcoming performances appear on the events calendar.
All welcome
Inside Circle
A non-performing way to make music together. Inside Circle brings people together for integrated drum circles built on inclusive percussion and chanting, with room for storytelling and movement. No experience or audition is needed, and there is no stage to step onto.
- Inclusive drum circles, open to anyone who wants to join
- Percussion and chanting, with storytelling and movement
- Bring your own instrument or use one that is provided
How to take part: Inside Circle gatherings are planned for Geauga County. Watch the events calendar for dates as they are scheduled.
Who it is for
For musicians ready to level up
RockAbility is for any musician with a documented disability who wants to grow their skills while working with musicians who already gig and record in Northeast Ohio. If you play, there is a place for you to keep getting better and to be heard.
Upcoming
RockAbility performances and rehearsals
RockAbility and FolkAbility rehearse regularly and play shows throughout the year. Rehearsal times and upcoming gigs are listed on the NPower calendar.
